ROMMAPALOOZA TOUR: Day-Trippin' in Spokane

Here's a bit of a photo essay of our family's adventures in Spokane this weekend...school shopping is a great excuse that equates to unbridled sillyness in a city where no one knows us or cares...happy giggles!
We thoroughly enjoyed the "SkyRide" and even made some new friends (that were chillin' on the gondola equipment at the farthest end of the ride...next time you're there, tell 'em hi for us).

Then we did some time at the Looff Carousel...Seth enjoyed it more than a little, since he was able to sound the big ol' bell by tossing one of the non-brass rings at the ride's target. Quite entertaining to soak in all the authentic-ness of the park...wish I'd been around to see Riverfront Park in all it's World Expo '74 glory (or earlier since the carousel's been in operation since 1909).

From there we decided to meander over & snag lunch at Cyrus O'Leary's (as a child I remember when each of the servers wore a different costume/hat---those were the days! Now, they're just plain servers). Good thing all the quirky toys & collectibles are still around---including the trapeeze clown!

With our bellies full, we were off to terrorize some public structures including the largest Radio Flyer wagon on earth & an unsuspecting statue...(ya might want to send your little ones out of the room...and tell Grandma to close her eyes)...alright, don't say we didn't warn you!

(Hey, if Nemo & his friends can, why can't I, right? Lol.)

Eventually we mozied on over for Mr LKP & Miss Daisy to get in on some amusement ride action. Lucky for us, the last ride they went on, Daze was feeling a bit woozy so we got to avoid MANY extremely long lines (inner mom was jumping for joy)!

Before we became all "responsible" and scampered off for school shopping (which was our whole purpose for heading north early Saturday morning), we soaked in the excitement & energy that was our stroll back to our car, through the park, passed the large water sculpture/community splash area. VERY ingenious piece of art is all I'm saying. Flocking to this combination of metal, rocks, lights, & water were kids of all ages (along with a couple bums-but hey, even bums appreciate personal hygiene, so I'm all for that!)...great place to be on a warm sunny afternoon.

Most definitely, shopping included (despite that emptied my wallet), Spokane was a TWEET stop for the ROMMAPALOOZA tour!

Love, love, LOVE the pictures! I'm so glad you guys had a great time.

We've never ridden the sky ride. Lindsay wants to sooo badly. We'll have to do that before we leave Spokane.

What time are you having dinner tonight? We might be able to come if it's early. We were leaving to go back home today {feed the kitties and what not} So, what time and where? Could I bring Jeff and my girls? Let me know. :)
