Wordless Wednesday: ...and 7, 8, 9, & 10, and BREATHE.......

Wordless Wednesday: How About a One Word Wednesday?

Still catching up with the computer here.  But I figured, instead of a Wordless Wednesday this week, how about a One Word Wednesday?

Just one whole post, dedicated to one single word.

A few of my friends make it a tradition to pick one word at the beginning of each new year.
(For an example, see Marilyn over at Passionista!)  That word then becomes their mantra or focus for the rest of their year.

For years I've greatly admired the concept & wanted to give it a try myself for this year.

LOTS went down for me & my family in the year of 2010... we're talkin' character-building stuff.

Based on that observation alone, I figure that if each of the past few years has been a good indicatior of what's laid ahead in the year which followed, then 2010 has just been gearing me up for 2011.


So I've decided that my one word for this year is:

PERSEVERANCE:

1. steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., esp. in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.

2. Theology. continuance in a state of grace to the end, leading to eternal salvation.

I've always heard that the purpose here is all about enduring to the end.  

I've also heard that patience is a virtue; one which you can't get past the bouncer at the Pearly Gates without.  Therefore, perseverance sounds like a perfect focus for me!

So, here's to a beautiful new year.  

One where I can learn to master perseverance... perhaps with an extra helping of Grace.  ;)
