A New Year, A New Word

Crazy how much can happen in 12 fleeting months.
Even crazier is the difference 1 little word can make.

2011's word was PERSEVERANCE.

Not that last year's word brought on all of last year's overwhelming events.
No, that's not it at all.

Matter of fact, last year's word served almost as my airline-seat-turned-floatation-device.

By remembering that Heavenly Father wanted me to seek these events as opportunities to
learn how to persevere & to focus on doing so with a happy heart is what kept me afloat.

Hence I really gained a greater appreciation for a word for a year's theme.
Brilliant I tell ya!

Knowing I cannot handle life these days without a focused word (aka an inspired grip for my steering wheel), I have been wrestling with words for the past several weeks.

There are so many good words in the world.  Profound words.  Big words, small words.  Long, poetic words.  As well as short words of prose.

Also, there are so many things, both blessings & attributes, I'd like to be more aware of in my life.  So, so many.

However, after much thought, prayer, and personal reflection,
may I present to you the Gusty Ridge Ranch's word & theme for 2012:
ex·hale  verb \eks-ˈhāl, ek-ˈsāl\
1: to rise or be given off as vapor 1a : to breathe out ("she exhaled a sigh")
2: to emit breath or vapor transitive verb
"...if ye should serve him who has created you from the beginning, and is preserving you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another—I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be unprofitable servants.  ...And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he has promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land..."   ---Mosiah 2:21-22

I honestly thought my word this year was supposed to be 'no,' but the Spirit has continually pulled at me that it was more to what I need this year than simply N-O.

Exhale means so many things to me I think, such as:
  • peace
  • balance
  • relief
  • let go
  • relax
  • faith
...and so many more.

Exhale simply covers it all.  :)

Happy 2012 word seeking.  May your word come to you swiftly!

Perfect word for you!
I have to agree with it and think it's one of the best I've seen.

Hugs and hope that you have a lot of exhale time this year.

How did all your photo shoots go?????

EXHALE...IS a great word. I never thought of coming up with a "word" to inspire me through the year.
I think mine will still have to be "WELLBUTRIN"
(tee,hee)
but exhale is more excellenter (new word)

It's a great word. Love the words you used to describe it; peace, balance, relief, faith. It sums up nicely.
