All the usual growing-up has been taking place in our household. With the Idaho change, others immediately followed. Seth began a long battle with the ARMY to get their ducks, paperwork, elephants, recruiters, and weasels in a row. But after several months, He's finally got things smoothed out with them. They now know for a fact that he DOES have a 6 year contract with them (who'da thought, after his already 7 years of service with them). And therefore, he's clear to restart the BYU-I admissions process hopefully in preparation for, as soon as, Summer 2006. Hooray!
Adjusting to Idaho hasn't been all that difficult for Seth, as a lot of things are similar to back home. The few jobs he's held have been right up his alley as well, being in the construction industry and all. And just so ya'll are aware, he has received many compliments on his abilities by others in the trade, and offered a couple jobs based what he's been able to accomplish. So, BRAVO to the extended Romm clan for steering him in the right direction with his talents. In contrast to his adventures with dirt, concrete, and all things of the true-construction nature, Seth's chosen to venture into the world of culinary arts as a chef at the "Hard Hat Steakhouse & Grille". It would normally sound like a stretch, but he won't have to change how he dresses since the uniform is Carharts, T-Shirts, and work boots! Not to mention the fact that he's got tons on experience on our big ol' BBQ, and the grill in the restaurant will be a converted-bucket from a front-end loader. Should be an adventure of enormous proportions, with a side of steak sauce!
