Either they are those we interact with daily, or weekly, or we're related to, or generally associated with. No matter what we all have those people.
The ones you inspire us by their selfless examples.
Those who don't necessarily GO OUT OF THEIR WAY to be awesome, it just naturally is who they are. It's how they were hard-wired. Its easy-peasy.
Just like inhaling & exhaling for you or I. (Not saying that you're NOT one of these people yourself. Most likely, in my eyes, you ARE!)
A great illustration of a person like this is the wonderful & legendary Danyelle of DandeeDesigns!
Whether it's a matter of creativity or just being a Christ-like individual, Dandee "gets it" and good things just flow from her. Kind of like the 80's main character from the Poochie book series. (Does anyone out there remember her other than me? And actually there were plush toys, sleeping bags, video cassettes....but we couldn't afford all the extras, so I just loved her books!)
Poochie was this fabulously beautiful, white dog with pink fluffy ears who wore lovely purple-ish sunglasses, while leaving trails of flowers & kindness wherever she went. She had this knack for helping her friends with all sorts of problems. And the best part was that she could clap her paws together and flower magic would just flutter about and fill the air!
That's what I'm reminded of when admiring Dandee's talents, sweet nature, and troubleshooting skills! Goodness just can't help but fill the room or a person's heart when Dandee's involved.
So.....
What better way to honor a friend like her? Well, by joining her in an altruistic journey of birthday celebration. That's code for the next 30 days of random acts of kindness. Dandee's way of giving back! That's right folks. She's not asking for things this year....instead she's giving of her self in all the days leading up to her 30th birthday. Awesome!

So, if you'd like to join in on the "Pay it Forward"-like legacy that is the pre-funk celebration of her 30th birthday, then climb aboard.
Day One's act of kindness: Hold the door for a stranger.
Day Two's act of kindness: Compliment someone's hair and MEAN it.
Because honestly, the best way to cultivate an attitude of gratitude....or even discover/rediscover reasons to be grateful, is to lose yourself in service & kindness towards others.
"And in nothing doth man offend God, or against none is his wrath kindled, save those who confess not his hand in all things..." (D&C 59:21)
I'm so grateful for people like Dandee whose examples are constant reminders that I want to be a better person, and why. :)
Happy Friday...Happy Kindness-Spreading....Happy Day One & Day Two!
