Baby-Making Update

(source)
A little irreverent topic, by some people's standards.

Eh, it is what it is.

Rest assured, however, there are no gruesome or scandalous details today.

Sorry to some, and you're welcome to most!

Mid-second cycle currently, the hormones are raging, and I'm officially feeling like a human pin-cushion now. (The first 6 months of Lupron injections probably has probably contributed a smidge.)

First cycle wasn't eventful, aside from being our initial go with meds. Other than that, a "(Clomid x 5)+Repronex+(Fostamin x 2)+Ovatril+(RX of 7 days of sex)=Fruitless" equation went down.

Had 4 follicles that cycle, but none were the gladiators we'd been hoping for, with the largest ones weighing-in at 11mm & 13mm, respectively. (For the record, Repronex is THE itchiness damn shot in the history of the earth. And Fostamin is like Miracle-Gro for follicles. In case you were wondering, of course. If you weren't, too bad.)  For reference-sake, 14mm is ideal. So, close but no cigar that round.

Let it be known, however, that despite the fact our 1st cycle didn't yield the results we were hoping for, the 7-day RX is Mr LKP's most favorite prescription ever & my doc is his most favorite doctor ever too!  (And that's saying a lot since Mr LKP avoids prescriptions & doctors like the plague, lol!)

THIS round, however, the equation is currently a little different. More like "(Clomid x 10)+Repronex+(Fostamin x 3)+(Fostamin x 3)+Ovatril+(RX of 7 days of sex)= ...we're not sure yet."  Well in actuality, we do know that my chances are greater (aside from the fact that more meds usually=better chances).

This round I have 5 follicles, and the biggest ones weighed in at 18mm, 20mm, and over 21mm!  Even better, both of the smallest follicles measured at about 14mm each!

So even though one ovary is apparently an under-achiever, our hopes are higher than ever before! Which is kinda scary, hoping again; and all over something microscopic like follicles.

*shaking head*

For those who aren't already in the know, what reality this all boils down to is, not only do we have an extremely better chance of finally having a baby, we actually now are looking at -if all goes perfectly- having FIVE babies!

When that realization came down, I won't lie, the room started spinning a little. But if that's in our family cards, then bring it on. (My lady plumbing cringes a little at the idea of 5 little stressors, but whatevs.)

So there you go.  Because obviously, enquiring minds want to know!

::fingers & legs crossed... lol, well kinda::

Don't cross your legs! How was that for crass?

Good luck, my friend. Fertility treatments can send even the best of us over the edge.

Just for the record, one of my dearest friends is celebrating a fifth birthday this week--with her triplets. And it's been hard but oh so good.

I'll keep my legs crossed for you.
Again, too crass.

ha ha...I'll pretty much just ditto what JEN said.
Here's hoping the best for you.

I saw the title of this post and got giddy! Poured me some more diet coke and settled in for some good old fashioned mormon porn!

And while I didn't understand 1/4 of what you described other than the word clomid, I am getting the idea that the outcome is promising and for that I am happy!!
