Creation brings deep satisfaction and fulfillment. We develop ourselves and others when we take unorganized matter into our hands and mold it into something of beauty... remember that you are spirit daughters of the most creative Being in the universe.
The bounds of creativity extend far beyond the limits of a canvas or a sheet of paper and do not require a brush, a pen, or the keys of a piano. Creation means bringing into existence something that did not exist before—colorful gardens, harmonious homes, family memories, flowing laughter.
What you create doesn’t have to be perfect. So what if the eggs are greasy or the toast is burned? Don’t let fear of failure discourage you. Don’t let the voice of critics paralyze you—whether that voice comes from the outside or the inside.”
-President Deiter F. Uchtdorf
(“Happiness, Your Heritage” Relief Society General Meeting, 2008)
In an effort to follow our General Relief Society leaders’ direction in getting back to the basics, as well as heeding President Uchtdorf’s counsel, the Snake River Ward’s first-ever Super Saturday promises to be the most ambitious Super Saturday endeavor any of us sisters have seen in a long time. Frankly said, there is much to be done… and a little something for everyone!
As many sisters enjoy Super Saturday events for décor purposes or Christmas preparation, not everyone falls into this category. Some sisters enjoy these events for the sociality & company. Some sisters have crafted their hearts out over the years and haven’t any additional hanging space on their walls, or they can’t possibly handle another item to dust. It is also understood that not everyone is the paint-y, ceramic-y, or glue gun-y creative type. However, this does not mean that we must cease to cReaTe!
In order to meet universal needs within our ward, it has been decided that various workshops will be offered, in addition to several craft projects. Keep in mind each craft and workshop helps us to cReaTe more Heaven here on earth…. within our lives, our communities, our families, and our homes. Creation, in all forms, is one of the most divine qualities we have inherited from our Heavenly parents. October 15th is our day to celebrate this together.
Circulating at church are binders (2 in Relief Society, 1 in Young Women, and 1 in Primary) filled with examples of this year’s available crafts & workshops. Please browse through the binders and sign-up for those you’d like to participate in, attend, or purchase kits for (Order forms are also in the binders at church.)
Feel free to peruse the descriptions & example links provided. Signing up via email is acceptable as well. Simply include your name, phone number, the classes you’d like to attend and/or the projects you’d like to be involved in.
Looking forward to realizing all that we can cReaTe together! See you October 15th from 9am-3pm. (Nursery & a Soup-Smorgasbord lunch will be provided.)
Sincerely,
The Relief Society Activities Committee
P.S.
So as to allow ample time for our supplier to cut our order, please be aware that all vinyl project orders (dry-erase, blocks, & signs) must be in by Sept 28th. Thank you!

Sounds like many worth while projects. Best of luck with the Super-Saturday!
WOW - what a lot of great things you have planned! Go you!
Our ward is doing a Fabulous Friday instead and doing it in the evening. I think we might have better turnout since Saturday's are so hard to get people to come out.
Have fun - good luck with it all!
Great job

I love the Clay Nativity and was wondering where one could find instructions to make this. It would be a wonderful activity for our branch craft night.
You can email me at dnkdye@msn .com
Thank you
